Death Of A Nightingale Fund

Death Of A Nightingale Fund

Many children with special educational needs can never easily enjoy a holiday. They cost too much, and must include a carer.

The Death of a Nightingale Fund within the Community Foundation in Tyne, Wear and Northumberland* provides grants every year to help some of them enjoy a holiday in London or in their nearest capital city.

Words of Thanks

"We had an amazing holiday" "Me and my family had a fantastic few
  days in London"
"The grant made a great difference
  after a hard two years"

Death Of A Nightingale

The play is about the closure of Brighouse special school between 2002 and 2004. See the drama unfold for Tracy and other pupils in the school, for Margaret Williamson, the head teacher and John Errington, her partner, the English teacher — will their love survive? For the school staff, for parents, and also for those who believe a special school is sometimes the right answer for children with special needs.
